

What is exercise?
Exercise is a fancy word for moving or being active.
An easy way to get exercise is playing outside with friends, walking your dog, or playing a sport.
As long as you are moving, you are exercising.








There are 3 different types of physical activity: aerobic, muscle strengthening, and bone strengthening.
AEROBIC
These activities cause you to breathe harder and faster. They also make your heart beat harder and faster. Examples of aerobic activities are:

Swimming

Dancing

Riding bicycle

Playing tag
MUSCLE
STRENGTHENING
These activities make your muscles work harder than they normally do, which makes them stronger. Examples of muscle strengthening activities are:

Lifting weights

Climbing a tree

Playground monkey bars

Tug-O-War
BONE
STRENGTHENING
These activities put force on bones and make them stronger. Examples of bone strengthening activities are:

Playing basketball

Running

Playing tennis
